Thornton Trail Riders Snowmobile Club

This Saturday is the 19th annual Cabin Fever Ride! It will be held on Saturday February 20, 2016 at the Woodland in Gresham. This is a wonderful event hosted by the Thornton Trail Riders Club. This is an opportunity for individuals who may not otherwise have a chance to go snowmobiling. The Shawano County Sheriff’s Department escorts the riders thru the scenic surrounding area. Afterwards there is warm food, bingo and other activities. Thank you Tim Schultz, Bob Marquardt, Laura Burmeister and Lana Dittman and all the wonderful volunteers from everyone at Community Alternatives.

Disability Employment Awareness Month

Menominee College is hosting a free, public event planned for October 17, 2015 to provide area residents with information on the contributions and skills of workers with disabilities and resources available for those with disabilities. The event will feature a 5K walk starting at the Menominee College’s Cultural Learning Center. Registration begins at 8:30am for the 9am-12 noon walk. The event includes a variety of informational booths on local programs and services, refreshments and prizes for the walkers.
