There are over 54 million Americans with disabilities. 2015 was the ADA’s 25th Anniversary and what a long way we have come. One of the challenges we face in Shawano is transportation for people in wheelchairs. Community Alternatives is working with local resources (Menominee Transit and City Cab) until we are able to acquire vans back from Shawano County and obtain Wisconsin DOT 5310 Grant vehicle (September-October). We have joined the City/County Transportation Committee to make others aware that there is a need for expansion in this area.
